Hello there, I’m going to write about the best movie in the whole universe and parallel universe…….that I’ve ever watched. I like all genre of movies. I dig everything. Except musical movies, who the hell invented musical movies anyway? Well, however I have watched “The Sound of Music”, “Singin’ in the Rain”, and “High School Musical”, oops. Okay, without wasting any time, money, and electricity, here we go…..

1. Pulp Fiction (1994)

Pulp_Fiction_cover Okay, may be you will think that it’s too mainstream when I put this in my first list. But honestly, who wont be petrified, terrified, stupefied by this movie. A story of two hit men, a boxer, a gangster’s wife, and a couple of bandits intertwine in unpredictable scenes of violence and ludicrous occurrence inside a plot that moves in cycle endlessly which make this movie so epic and original. However, another thing that construct the basic foundation of this Tarantino’s movie is the presence of talking scene. Almost in every scene there is a long conversation. Mostly about nothing and has nothing to do with the story, but interesting. Also, the appearance of 70’s music in every different situation. And this is the memorable dance of Vincent and Mia backsounded by a catchy rock n roll song. The ‘fyi’ things about this movie is, in case you didn’t know yet, the Ezekiel verse that Samuel Jackson always read when he’s about to kill his victim doesn’t actually exist. Another one, every ‘situation’ happened when Vincent Vega went to the bathroom. Also, may be you wonder what’s in the case? Me too. But just let it slide, and be mystery.

2. The Machinist (2004)

MV5BMTkxMjc0Nzk3Ml5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNDM5MTcyMQ@@._V1_SX640_SY720_ This is the gloomiest movie I’ve ever seen. A movie about a man who felt guilty about what he has done and finally couldn’t distinguish between reality and illusion that finally lead him into paranoid hallucination and horror. The thing I like from this movie is the color of picture and cinematography. Everything looks bluish gray, slashed with shades of red, the classy red car he used to have. Saturated colors and high tension editing gives psychic paranoia scene. The back-sound emphasize it all. Also, you couldn’t just let go of what Christian Bale’s did on his body. He reduce weight about 28 kg and weight only about 54 kg. If he was any tinier, he wouldn’t exist. Damn, even my weight is lighter than him.

3. Clerks (1994)

Clerks_movie_poster;_Just_because_they_serve_you_---_  1994 is the year of astonishing and epic film. Name it; Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, Shawshank Redemption, The Lion King, Dumb and Dumber, …..did I miss something?. 1999 is the second best, or 1979, or 1984, your call. Clerks, a black and white movie of 23 year old Kevin Smith who turn every volatile soul involving self esteem, responsibility, and behavior upside down. I have no idea why did he make it black and white though. Anyway, the way story goes is just flawless. Every dialog and conversation run smoothly. Most of all, Randall taught you how to live this life so damn well. And you know, the whole movie just happen in one day. Oh and you must not miss the sequel of this movie too, Clerks 2.

4. The Good The Bad The Ugly (1966)

the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly An epic movie starred by Clint Eastwood depicting the situation and struggle to live in the west back then. A story of three bounty hunter who necessarily have to rely on each other because of peculiar circumstances that become classic virtually definitive “spaghetti western”.  Segio Leone, the director, claimed, “The real West was the world of violence, fear, and brutal instincts,” . “In pursuit of profit there is no such thing as good and evil, generosity or deviousness; everything depends on chance, and not the best wins but the luckiest.” However, one not-so-good thing about this movie, there is not much girl appears.

5. Fight Club (1999)

MV5BMjIwNTYzMzE1M15BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwOTE5Mzg3OA@@._V1_SX214_AL_I can’t write much about this movie. I’ll just leave one of the quotes here.

“Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who’ve ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don’t need. We’re the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War’s a spiritual war… our Great Depression is our lives. We’ve all been raised on television to believe that one day we’d all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won’t. And we’re slowly learning that fact. And we’re very, very pissed off.”

It’s 3.32 a.m now. I’m tired. I’ll continue my list sometime. Feel free to give advices and suggestions. To be continued…
